By Jen Christensen I found this article about these scientists that cloned a monkey in shenghai, China and they used the same technique as dolly the sheep in 1996. They named the two monkeys hua hua and zhong zhong. They are two long-tailed macaques,. The article talks about how they used somatic cell transfer which is where they remove the eggs neucules - Which is where the egg contains most of its genetic information- and then replace it with another neucules. I wonder what will happen with the monkeys when they grow up. Like where will they live and what will be the purpose of cloning monkeys in the future? I can see the purpose with animals that we eat or with near extinct animals but I don't see the purpose for cloning monkeys in the future. Why do you think that the Purpose of cloning in the future? I think that it could be used to do something from star wars and create the perfect army. And I will comment on Savannah and Hennas blogs.

This is a huge step in science and I think the article you chose is an important thing to know about. You were talking about how you don't find it important to clone monkeys but its less about that and more of just starting understand how everything inside the process works. I don't know what its going to be, but I feel like this is going to play an important role in the future.
